Interviewed a really cool band called the Banditos and shot some of their set. Loved it!!
The Weeks were a fun group. Good crowd turnout for them too. I have video of more from that show and will share that once I cut something. Last bit of fun for the day was shooting Kinfs Of Leon. Pit access for split into two groups, I got to shoot one song, and the stage was 10ft high, so I was lucky to even get their hands/guitar in the picture! Still a great show, and a lot of fun to shoot. Also, I saw a whale.
Day one complete. Really started off with a bang. Wow what amazing music!!
There is so much to say about the first day of the festival, even though it doesn’t officially kick off until tomorrow. There were still some amazing bands to play. My fav Umphrey’s McGee!! I hope to write more about this later, right now though…. its 1am and I am DONE. Goodnight everyone. Here are a few shots from today
That time of summer has come again! It’s time to stick my toes in the sand and jam out for 3 days.
I’ll still be posting images but I’m filming a lot this year as well. Photography will be posted to the Hangout Photo page on this site and will be available for download individually, or commercially.
From April 5th, 2013 on the stage at the Frog Pond in Silverhill, Alabama. Mary Gauthier (pronounced go-shay) sings her heart filled song Mercy Now. I can say without a doubt she is one of the most wonderful and warm people I’ve had the pleasure to meet.
Sad news to report today. Friday April 26, 2013. Mr. George Jones passed away.
I had the amazing privilege of meeting Mr Jones a few years ago. He was playing at the Saenger Theater in downtown Mobile. At the time I was shooting for a company by the name of Myshotz. We covered everything for the theater so I had a wonderful opportunity to meet many of the artists.
I was really excited about the show in general because I loved George Jones. I remember standing backstage taking it all in when someone grabbed my arm and said “Hey, come take a picture of me and George”. Obviously I was taken by surprise. She really surprised me when she walked over and grabbed him by the arm and told him “George, come over here and take a picture with me”. I was thinking, oh Lord who is this!? He smiled for a picture with her though. Mr Jones was a super amazing guy. He said hello (something more like, ‘whats going on young fella’) and shook my hand. Turns out she was his wife. She was really something. Very sweet person to talk to, just a beautiful lady all around. She really caught me off guard when I got an email from her a few days later with their mailing address asking if I could mail her an 8×10!
He was such an amazing artists giving us many one-of-a-kind songs. My personal favorite is Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes where he sings about country music’s legends. He certainly earned a spot on that list. So long Opossum!
Im not sure its possible to play this song and not stop whatever it is your doing and just say…. wow.
Such a beautiful voice singing this song. Ms Sarah Lee Guthrie sings a song her grandfather, Woody Guthrie, wrote. www.sarahleeandjohnny.com/
Wow what a day it was! The music was an absolutely amazing thing to behold. Such a great turnout for the final concert of the season. I filmed the show for the venue but can’t decide what video to share! There are a few songs that just capture you. I’m working on the cutting something and will have it posted, for now though here are a couple still pictures I snapped along the way.
Also be sure to check out the artists website and buy a cd! http://www.spencerbohren.com/ http://www.sarahleeandjohnny.com/ http://www.graysoncapps.com/ http://www.willkimbrough.com/
